The tone was set early as the Hurricanes dominated the first period, outshooting the Stars 22-9 and building a commanding 4-1 lead. Annabelle Kruzich opened the scoring for Mississauga, and she was quickly followed by teammates kate pasma, Maria Mazi, and Haylee-Kaydance Lecuyer, who all found the back of the net. The Stars managed a brief response from Macyn Driver, but they were largely on their heels, struggling to contain the Hurricanes' speed and pressure.
The second period saw the Stars mount a power-play response early, with Annabelle McKenzie capitalizing on a tripping penalty to cut the deficit to 4-2. Tiani Makokis scored an even-strength goal, and then, with Charlotte Payette serving a hooking penalty, Bronwyn Langis converted on the power play to seal the 7-3 final. The Hurricanes' Kalia Pharand earned the win in net, while the story of the game was written in the shot totals, a staggering 66-20 advantage for Mississauga that showcased their complete territorial dominance from start to finish.
