The Storm struck first on the power play late in the second period, as Samantha Wong (#18) found the net with just a minute remaining. Wallace then struck again for North York, this time on the power play, to restore a two-goal cushion at 4-2.
The final minutes were a chaotic, penalty-filled siege as Whitby threw everything at the North York net, outshooting the Storm 19-2 in the third period. The Wolves' pressure finally yielded one more goal from Aird on the power play with just over six minutes to play, making it 4-3. Despite pulling their goalie and drawing a late penalty, the Wolves could not find the equalizer against the stalwart Mancini. The Storm's defense, tested by 19 third-period shots and multiple penalties including a major, bent but did not break, securing a hard-fought two points on the road.
