The Nepean Wildcats delivered a commanding performance at home, shutting out the Ridley Tigers with a decisive 6-0 victory. From the opening puck drop, the Wildcats established their dominance, outshooting the Tigers 15-6 in the first period. While the scoreboard remained untouched in the first, the tone was set. The Tigers' Lola Timmons took a roughing penalty late in the period, but the Wildcats' power play was held at bay, foreshadowing a game where their even-strength attack would be more than enough.
The floodgates finally opened in the second period. Maggie Hughson, wearing #24, broke the deadlock with a crucial goal in the final seconds of the frame, assisted by Jaylee MacKinnon and Rio Francis. That goal proved to be the game-winner, and Hughson wasn't finished. She struck again just over four minutes earlier in the period, with MacKinnon and Mallea McMullin picking up the helpers, giving the Wildcats a 2-0 lead heading into the third. The Tigers struggled to generate quality chances against Wildcats goalie Dominique Rioux, who turned aside all 22 shots she faced for a clean sheet.
Any hope of a Ridley comeback was extinguished in a relentless third-period onslaught from Nepean. Alessia Longo started the scoring frenzy, followed by goals from Mallea McMullin, another from the red-hot Maggie Hughson to complete her hat-trick, and finally Sydney Semiga. The Wildcats' offensive depth was on full display, with multiple players hitting the scoresheet, including Rio Francis and Kate Viel contributing key assists. At the other end, the Wildcats' defense and Rioux were impenetrable, capping off a complete team effort that saw them fire 51 shots on the Ridley net in a statement win.
