The Stoney Creek Sabres delivered a commanding performance from start to finish, blanking the Windsor Southwest Wildcats 5-0 in a one-sided U22 Elite affair. The tone was set early, with the Sabres outshooting the Wildcats 10-2 in the opening period. The pressure paid off at the 6:17 mark when Adison White, wearing number 97, found the back of the net, assisted by Claire Sanford and Mylie Ellis. That goal would stand as the game-winner, as the Sabres' defense and goaltending locked down the Wildcats completely.
The Sabres' offensive onslaught continued to build. Makenna Vinc, number 91, doubled the lead with an unassisted goal midway through the second period. The third period saw the floodgates open, as Stoney Creek poured in three more goals in quick succession. Adison White netted her second of the game just five minutes into the final frame, again set up by the duo of Mylie Ellis and Claire Sanford. Just moments later, Nicole Spencer made it 4-0, with Charlee Love and Claire Sanford picking up the helpers. Ashley Austin rounded out the scoring at 7:17, finishing a play from Makenna Vinc and Charlee Love to seal the 5-0 final.
The story of the game, however, was written in the shot totals and between the pipes. The Sabres fired a relentless 42 shots on the Wildcats' net, while Windsor Southwest managed only 8 attempts all game. Sabres goaltender Machala Musty, number 35, was perfect when called upon, turning aside all 8 shots she faced to earn a well-deserved shutout victory. The Wildcats' frustration boiled over late when Payton Burnett was assessed a hooking penalty that also resulted in a penalty shot against with just 27 seconds remaining, a final punctuation mark on a difficult night for the visitors. The Sabres' complete team effort, led by multi-point games from Claire Sanford, Mylie Ellis, and Charlee Love, proved far too much for Windsor Southwest to handle.
