The Barrie Sharks set the tone early and never looked back, cruising to a decisive 6-2 victory over the visiting Kingston Ice Wolves. The home team came out flying in the first period, unleashing a 12-shot barrage that yielded four goals. Elle DeSilva, wearing number 91, was the offensive catalyst, opening the scoring just over two minutes into the game and later adding the game-winner. She was part of a potent line with Kate Stuart (#82), who tallied three assists on the night. The Ice Wolves showed brief signs of life when Rio Pierre (#9) answered DeSilva's opener, but the Sharks' power play struck back immediately. Just three seconds after a Kingston slashing penalty, Adrielle Charette (#77) converted a setup from Gabrielle Willard and Malee Winter to restore the lead. Madeline McKay (#13) would add another before the period ended, giving Barrie a commanding 4-1 lead after one.
Kingston attempted to claw back into the game in the second period, outshooting the Sharks 9-5. Their persistence paid off when Ashlea Whyte (#7) scored, assisted by Ava Vrana and Rio Pierre, cutting the deficit to 4-2. However, the period was marred by penalties, including a double-minor for head contact against Barrie's Mae Severn (#9), but the Sharks' penalty kill, anchored by goaltender Avah Sedore (#74), held firm. Sedore was a wall in net, turning aside 19 shots for the win. The game's physical nature continued, but Barrie's defense tightened, allowing only four shots in the final frame.
Any hopes of a Kingston comeback were extinguished in the third period as the Sharks reasserted their dominance. Elle DeSilva completed her hat trick midway through, once again assisted by Kate Stuart, to make it 5-2. Simone Swanson (#7) put the final exclamation point on the victory, scoring late with helpers from Stuart and DeSilva, capping a spectacular four-point night for DeSilva. The Sharks' offense was simply too much, as they peppered the Kingston net with 31 shots overall. Despite a valiant 16-save relief effort from Lilyana Reid (#88) for the Ice Wolves, the early deficit proved insurmountable against a relentless Barrie attack.
