Ottawa's discipline continued to be an issue, taking three minor penalties in the period that London expertly exploited.
The third period descended into a parade to the penalty box, with a staggering nine infractions called, including a major sequence in the final seconds that saw Ottawa's Sophia Contant (#4) assessed a double minor for head contact and two separate kneeing minors. Despite the chippy play, neither team could add to the scoreboard. London's defense, backed by Gracey's calm presence, locked down the game. Ottawa's goalie, Livia Debnarova (#1), faced a relentless barrage of 43 shots and made several strong saves to keep her team within shouting distance, but the Devilettes' early power-play precision and airtight goaltending proved to be an unbeatable combination on this night.
