The London Devilettes put on a clinic in special teams execution, riding two power-play goals to a commanding 3-0 victory over the Ottawa 67s. From the opening faceoff, London established territorial dominance, outshooting Ottawa 15-6 in the first period. Their pressure paid off midway through the frame when, on the man advantage, Emerson Moore (wearing #92) opened the scoring. She was set up beautifully by Alexandria McDonald and Zoe Nesbitt, giving the Devilettes a lead they would never relinquish. The period was marred by penalties, including a double minor for head contact against London's Moore late in the period, but the 67s could not capitalize on their extended opportunity.
The second period saw London's power play strike twice more to put the game out of reach. First, Tessa Burdett (#9) found the back of the net, with helpers from AJ Smit and Avery Thomsen. Just a minute and forty seconds later, it was Colbie Farr (#89) converting another chance, assisted again by the playmaking of Alexandria McDonald. While Ottawa managed to generate more shots in the middle frame, they found London's goalie, Ella Gracey (#31), to be an impenetrable wall. Gracey was flawless, turning aside all 30 shots she faced to earn a well-deserved shutout. Ottawa's discipline continued to be an issue, taking three minor penalties in the period that London expertly exploited.
The third period descended into a parade to the penalty box, with a staggering nine infractions called, including a major sequence in the final seconds that saw Ottawa's Sophia Contant (#4) assessed a double minor for head contact and two separate kneeing minors. Despite the chippy play, neither team could add to the scoreboard. London's defense, backed by Gracey's calm presence, locked down the game. Ottawa's goalie, Livia Debnarova (#1), faced a relentless barrage of 43 shots and made several strong saves to keep her team within shouting distance, but the Devilettes' early power-play precision and airtight goaltending proved to be an unbeatable combination on this night.
