The Stoney Creek Sabres delivered a commanding 4-0 victory over the Whitby Wolves, led by a perfect goaltending performance and a potent offensive display. From the opening puck drop, the Sabres established control, outshooting the Wolves 7-3 in the first period. Their pressure paid off early when Charlee Love, wearing number 44, found the back of the net just over four minutes into the game. That early goal set the tone, as the Sabres' defense and goaltender Machala Musty, number 35, completely stifled the Wolves' attack. Musty was flawless, turning aside all 13 shots she faced to earn a well-deserved shutout, while the Wolves' Sarah McKechnie faced a relentless barrage of 25 shots.
The game remained a tight 1-0 battle until the final frame, where the Sabres exploded for three goals to put the contest out of reach. Nicole Spencer, number 10, was the offensive catalyst, scoring twice in the third period. Her first was an even-strength tally, assisted by Sadie Allen and Mylie Ellis, to double the lead. Just 47 seconds later, with the Wolves' Haedyn Leeson in the box for hooking, Spencer struck again on the power play, this time with an assist from Ashley Austin. The Sabres' power play wasn't finished, as Hunter Burch, number 19, capitalized on another Whitby penalty late in the period, assisted by Eva Ouellette, to seal the 4-0 final.
The Wolves struggled to generate consistent offense and found themselves in penalty trouble throughout the game, taking five minors to the Sabres' two. Key penalties by Alexa Strano and Lillyan Newmaster in the third period proved particularly costly, leading directly to two of Stoney Creek's power-play goals. Despite a late push that saw them register six shots in the final period, the Wolves could not solve the brick wall that was Machala Musty. The Sabres' disciplined, two-way game and clinical finishing secured a decisive road win, showcasing their strength in all facets of the game.
